The Best Ordinary Products For Anti-Aging

In my circle of girlfriends, I'm the go-to for all things skin care related and I love it! One of the things I'm asked often is if I'm familiar with The Ordinary line and which of their products I would recommend for anti-aging. So voila, a blog post was born! I've been using all three products for a total of three months and I'm thrilled to see visible differences in my skin. My top noticeable improvements have been an even and brighter skin tone, more glow, and less fine lines. I use my Buffet Serum in the morning, then apply my Vitamin C cream and use my Retinol in the evening (if you'd like to use it in the morning, be sure to apply sunscreen). Let's dive in!

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% - If you're wondering what the heck this is? It's a brightening hydrator and stabilized vitamin C derivative. It helps with dullness, uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles. For me, this cream is highly moisturizing, but I still like to add my Clinique daily moisturizer once the vitamin C has soaked in. If you're looking to brighten your skin tone and reduce signs of aging? I'd highly recommend this one!

Buffet Serum - This serum is best applied to dry & clean skin, and is meant for targeting dryness, fine lines and multiple signs of aging. It contains a bevy of peptides which are amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins in the skin, and are able to penetrate the top layer of your skin and send signals to your cells to let them know how to function. The total concentration of these technologies in this formula by weight is 25.1 percent.

Retinol 0.2% in Squalane - This is my first time using retinol and I'm in love. I will say, most commercial products are not stable enough to deliver quality retinol to your skin, and give you the results you want. However, this particular product is a true god-send and I could just bathe in it. Haha! I use this product at night, and add several drops to my current night time moisturizer and spread it over my face. It's like a drink of water for my skin, and I love that the retinol is working hard to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen.

Let me know if you have any questions, friends. I'll be sure to answer in the comments section by end of day!! xo

  1. The Ordinary is such a fascinating line of products - it truly makes skincare feel, at least to me, like a science. There is so much trial and error with their products but at the pricepoint, it almost doesn't matter. And when something does work, it really works! These products are all new to me, but I definitely use items from The Ordinary every single day in my own skincare routine. I love their Hylamide cleanser for removing make-up. So far, my big gripe is that the products are great for my summer skin but don't stand up to the challenge of a Winnipeg winter. But then, what does? Not much, sadly. So I'll still keep trying ;)
